Recipes to be Thankful for!

by Nicole on November 16, 2012

Thanksgiving is always treated with extra special care wherever I go.  It is no doubt in part seen as a tribute to my Dad and his love of the holiday. He was an incredible cook and was a master with everything from the “main event” to desserts. I always remember the table filled with so much effort and love in every dish. It was a day where all the stress and turmoil could melt away and we could remind ourselves of what is truly important, one another.

Now that I have a lovely little familia I am so excited to start some traditions of our own. I am beyond super happy that the babies are interested and getting old enough to be helpful in the kitchen. This year I also have my little sister coming to stay which is wonderful. She is one of my favorite people to share the kitchen with. :)

I know the time is tick, ticking away but if you are like me you work best under pressure. I have collected a list of some of the most delicious and unique recipes I could gather, along with a few classics of course. You may find a last minute addition or replacement for your holiday table. Or if you are feeling “crazy” you can make them any day just because! :) Have a safe and beautiful holiday. I hope you are surrounded by those you love at a table filled with delicious food, laughter and gratitude.  XOXO Nicole

Sweet Potato Biscuits – I made these last year and I will again (I used a cookie cutter to make them extra fun).

Masala Cranberry Mango Sauce – I saw this one just in time and I am excited to make it.

Dumpling Squash with Cream and Sage Sauce – Yum…must make this year!

Chestnut and Apple Stuffing – In honor of my Mother in Law who loves chestnuts :)

Mini Cornbread Puddings – Why are mini foods always that much more appealing?

Lemon and Caper Mashed Potatoes – I love this idea!

Roasted Butternut Squash with Goat’s cheese – Yes Please!!

Pumpkin Mac and Cheese – A nice autumn spin on a classic

Apple Pie – Wait till you see this adorable pie! :)

Sage and Garlic Roasted Chicken with Pomegranate and black pepper glaze –  This is a top contender for my holiday bird right now :)

Cinnamon Chai Cream Pie – Heavenly sounding!

Watercress Salad with Roasted Sweet Potatoes – Refreshing and lovely looking!

Green Beans with Mushrooms and Bacon– Shitake and Bacon with Green Beans, sign me up!

Mashed Red Curry Sweet Potatoes – This is a delicious sounding spin on traditional Sweet Potatoes. I will definitely be trying this.

Pumpkin Pie White Hot Chocolate – I can’t wait!

Mushroom Puffs – An easy make ahead appetizer
