Book Review – 101 Gourmet Ice Cream Creations for every craving

by Nicole on August 15, 2013

It was such a very nice surprise to be approached by the publishers of Wendy Paul’s new book – 101 Gourmet Ice Cream Creations for Every Craving.  If you are not familiar with her delicious and creative work please make sure you check out her page.  She has so many recipes and ideas to tempt you.

With her latest installment in the series she devotes herself to a dessert everyone loves – ICE CREAM!  There are so many varieties from the classics, to flavors such as Coconut Cream Pie *swoon*, Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle and whimsical Pink Lemonade.

The book is broken down with incredible organization.  There are separate sections for Ice Creams, Holiday specific treats, Ice cream treats, Milkshakes, Ice Cream Pies and even Toppings.

The recipes are all really accessible with ingredients that should be very easy to find.  There is enough variety to make everyone happy no matter what kind of chilly treat you crave.

As for the physical book I have to say that I loved that it was hard covered and had spiral binding inside which is great for referencing.  I also appreciated that there is a very bright colorful photograph to go with all of the recipes.

Even though I do not yet have an Ice Cream Maker (it is on my kitchen wishlist) I was able to find so many wonderful recipes to try and enjoy.  If you are able to make all the Ice Cream you will enjoy that all the recipes are very simple to follow.  It is great that they make very manageable 1 qt servings which are perfect and can also easily be doubled or tripled to fit your needs for a crowd.

I would like to thank the author and the publishers for the honor of allowing me to preview the book.  I know my little lovies are very eager to try out more delicious recipes to enjoy.  I really enjoy having the ability to use my own trusted and pure ingredients to make them Ice Cream I know will be delicious and a lot healthier than store brought versions. Thank you Wendy for a really yummy and well done book of ideas! :)

If you are interested in checking out a copy you can find it here.
